Introduction

Welcome! On these pages I am detailing information on research interests and activities of my water and coastal engineering research team based at the University of Edinburgh and beyond. Essentially, this site serves as a medium to summarise our progress and academic opportunities associated with our work on water research and environmental fluid mechanics.

I am a Lecturer in Water, Coastal and Offshore Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, incorporated within the School of Engineering and specifically the Institute for Infrastructure and the Environment. In addition, as an Industrial Innovation Research Fellow of the UK’s Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) I coordinate research activities on coastal & offshore engineering, environmental fluid mechanics and water research. I am a Chartered member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and have been affiliated with the International Association of Hydro-environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).

Prior to Edinburgh, I was a Research Fellow working on coastal engineering applications with the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London (2016-2018) and the Hydro-environmental Research Centre of Cardiff University (2014-2016). I hold a PhD in Hydro-environmental Engineering (2014) and an MEng(Hons) in Civil Engineering (2010). Details of my academic trajectory are summarised in my CV.
